Founded in 1947, “Americans United for Separation of Church and State” www.au.org is sponsoring these concerts to carry the important message about the vital principle of Church and State separation. American musicians and performers — as well as all music lovers and fans of the Constitution — are stepping up to join together during a time when it seems clear that much of what we all love about America is, in fact, in peril. SPECIAL GUESTS: TRINA HAMLIN -- Minnesota-bred Trina Hamlin is a well-loved Performer, Singer, Songwriter and Harmonica and Guitar player nationwide – her most recently released her CD “Living Room” on ModMusic Records, is where you will hear folk, rock, blues and gorgeous melody-driven choruses converge. Time Out New York calls her music an “intriguing and muscular take on the unplugged genre.” LIAM DAVIS He was nominated for a GRAMMY AWARD for his excellent work on children’s’ music guru JUSTIN ROBERTS’ latest record. He is a superb singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer and arranger. Liam has a true love for personal storytelling and an enthusiastic respect for song craft. His first solo album,”The Dread Knot Awaits”, is currently in production. STEVE DAWSON Born in California, raised in Idaho, and now a Chicagoan, you’ll hear the influences of Gram Parsons, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, the country music he heard growing up in Idaho, and the blues and soul music of Chicago. He is the founder and still leader of the ever-popular and irrepressible DOLLY VARDEN band. In 2006, Undertow Records released Dawson’s first solo album, "Sweet Is the Anchor” and his follow-up release, "I Will Miss the Trumpets and the Drums" was met with critical acclaim. In addition to performing and recording, Steve teaches songwriting at the world famous OLD TOWN SCHOOL OF FOLK MUSIC in Chicago. SUSAN WERNER Over the course of her colorful career, singer songwriter Susan Werner has cultivated a reputation as a daring and innovative songwriter with a killer live show. She boldly endeavors to weave old with new to create altogether new genres of music when existing ones do not suit her muse, and she regularly keeps audiences guessing and laughing simultaneously. Most of her work infuses traditional music styles and methods with her unmistakable contemporary worldview, constantly challenging listeners to experience music from a fresh and unexpected perspective. HOSTED BY INGRID GRAUDINS – You may know her as Evanston Space’s host of the always entertaining quarterly series, “Words & Music” or by having heard her band “Ingrid & the Unicorns”.
